Not sure if anyone else mentioned this but if it's convenient for you, you might try to hit the gym during non-peak hours when there is hardly anyone present. This way, the staff are free to assist you and you can build your confidence that way and work your way to using weights during peak hours.

My quest to gain 22lbs
Hello there,

I also recently started a quest to gain weight. Preferable 30-40 pounds. If you haven't already, you should use a calorie calculator to see how many calories you need a day to gain weight slowly. I used this one >> (http://nutrition.about.com/od/changeyourdiet/a/calguide.htm) but you can google it and use whichever one you prefer.

But no one wants to gain just 20-30 pounds of fat right? So you have to eat accordingly and start an exercise regimen.

As for centrum, I used to take it, gave me headaches for some reason. Multivitamins are only good if you are unable to get specific vitamins that you need from the regular foods that you eat. Solid foods beat supplements any day.

Furthermore, if you want to gain weight and build muscle, protein protein protein. Lean protein that is.
