I'm 53, just lost almost 30 lbs with about 70 to go. Looks like we are not alone. Smile

Too tired to cook + McDonald's = Savvy Calorie Intake!
If I'm too tired to think about cooking much, I scramble one egg, two egg whites, throw in a little ham or canadian bacon and top with a sprinkle of veggie shreds. I'm good to go and full when I'm done eating and it only takes a few minutes.

You can also get a subway sandwich as a salad - which totally takes bread out of the equation altogether, if a person is trying to avoid it.

Products review
My low-carb diet does not leave a lot of room for error, but I have found that if I allow myself to eat a "forbidden" food or two on a special occasion, I feel satisfied and included in the event.

For example, on my daughter's birthday we went to Medieval Times and I ate the small pastry included in our dinner and a small piece of birthday cake. I did not eat the bread or potatoes. At a wedding reception, I did not eat mashed potatoes, gravy or bread, but I did allow myself to eat a spoonful of stuffing and a chocolate cupcake.

Neither of these ruined my diet, caused weight gain, or kicked me out of ketosis. I am trying to change my mindset from "all or nothing". It has been my downfall to this point. It seems to be helping me to get right back on track when the special event has ended and not eat a bunch of garbage for the next six months. Because before, that's all it would take for me.

Sweet
I have a chocolage EAS Carb Control shake every day. It satisfy the chocoholic in me and is carb friendly. It is difficult to get anything sweet. I am going to Medithin weight loss clinic, which may be even more restrictive with foods than Atkins. These shakes are a life saver for me. They also have vanilla and strawberry, so you do have a choice of flavors. Also, SF Popsicle brand popsicles. Very helpful.
