Lifting heavy?
I frequent two gyms (the one at my college and the one my husband joined). I'm almost always the ONLY woman on that side of the gym. In the beginning, I was a little unsure, but now, I rock it. I actually LIKE being the only girl and seeing the girls eyeballing me from the treadmills.
My biggest help was having a plan. I created a workout plan on freetrainers.com, printed it, and carried a clipboard. It made me feel more "official," like I knew what I was doing. I've recently switched to a plan from bodybuilding.com. I do the same, and it feels GREAT!!!
Just try it a couple of times. You'll intimidate those guys more than they'll intimidate you.
