I live in Colorado, I'm divorced. I have three adult children. My friends would say that I'm fun, funny, smart, & honest. I've had many jobs & careers. I was a lifeguard, managed an aerobics fitness club similar to Curves, and I was a waitress. I went to college at 34 with 3 kids at home then taught Math for 12 yrs. I got my MBA 3 yrs ago and now I'm in financial services.
It's hard to believe I use to teach aerobics 4 to 6 times a day and counsel women on diet and exercise...how did I let myself get like this? Most of the weight was gained in the 10 yrs before I got divorced. I was married for 21. The good news is I stopped gaining after the first year, the bad news is I never lost what I had gained the previous 10. I had 10 yrs of really bad habits that I’ve had a terrible time shaking.
I made it my goal to get to 140 by the end of this year. I started the Super Shred Diet and with that I also started exercising again. I have arthritis so I needed to find something low impact. I'm swimming and riding my exercise bike & taking the dog walking.
I think it's important to say why I want to lose and why I'm finally ready to get the job done. Of course I want to look better, I have always wanted that, but for a long time the comfort of food was more important to me than how I looked. Now I don't feel that. I want to feel better. The arthritis in my knees showed up about 8 years ago, but it has really gotten bad in the last 3. I know that for every pound of weight I lose, I take 4 pounds of pressure off my knees. I want to be able to get down on the floor and play with my grandkids and then get back up again with ease. I do it now, but it's not easy! I want to set a better example to my kids and grandkids.
I love to travel and am going to Hawaii in May with my three kids, daughter-in-law and 2 grandkids. Other hobbies include cooking, gardening, reading, hiking and dancing. Well this is me in a nutshell. Happy Trails.
