My name is Mandy and am looking to loose about 25lbs and get healthy & active by my 24th birthday in April. I live in Alberta, Canada.

My mom and youngest sister have been following the Weight Watchers diet for the last couple months and I've finally joined them. We aren't officially joined up but we have the books from when my mom did it years ago and you can find alot of the info online too, so what the heck.

Since I finished college last year I've gotten sluggish and inactive, and my job as a receptionist hasn't been helping. I am an actress and being overweight (even by just a bit) doesn't help me get roles, and being out of shape (which I really am!) definitely doesn't allow me to do my best.

My goal is to loose some weight, get back into shape, eat healthier, and use the energy I gain from feeling good to motivate me to keep following my other personal & professional goals!

Hi there!
Hey Schoon, you should join the WW group here on Fat Secret http://fatsecret.com/groups/weight-watchers-losing-it/Home.aspx

In the Group Forum there is a Sticky called WW Resources, Flex Points & Core Plan. It has tonnes of stuff including how to calculate your points.

I too am on WW (but not really since I have no books and don't go to meetings). Use this site to help you keep track of what you eat and how many points food items are. I know that on top of your point restriction you're supposed to eat 5 Fruits or Veggies a Day, 2 Dairys, Get a min of 20 min of exercise and drink At Least 6 Glasses of Water.

Good luck on your journey and remember that if you keep at it you will see the results!!

Help!
So how'd you do? What tasty Italian meal did you go for?

Help!
Buca Di Beppo-
Penne Campofiore: Vegetarian pasta with Romano cheese in a light vegetable broth, sometimes a special order. Serving: 1/2 small entree
Cal 380 Fat 19 Fiber 4 Total WW points: 8

Linguini Frutti Di Mare: linguini, shrimp, baby clams, mussels, calamari tossed in a spicy red clam sauce Serving: 1/6 large entree
Cal 360 Fat 22 Fiber 1 Total WW Points: 9

Chicken Cannelloni: Stuffed with chicken sausage, ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, fresh sage and baked on a bed of rosa sauce.
(I couldn't find the nutrition for Buca Di Beppo but Boston Pizza's version is Cal 490 Fat 40 Fiber 3 Total WW points: 13- and I know after half of it I'm always full)

I suggest just eating half of a small serving and having a salad to start. Drink a glass of water before you go to dinner and than another one before you get any of your food to help fill you up (or at least make you feel like your full). If you go for dessert try the ice cream rather than the cakes and baked goods. Save up some of your points for this meal or try and get in an extra exercise session too if you're really worried.

Good Luck!
