I'm 35, married to my husband, William for almost 6 years and we have 2 kids, Mary who's 9.5 and William, who will be 5 on 12/28. I was on Weight Watchers for the last 2.5 years but recently decided to try Bob Greene's Best Life Diet since WW stopped working for me(gained and lost the same 7 lbs for the last year). Looking to get to 135 by this time next year, hopefully before. That's the weight my doctor says he'd like to see me at, and a weight I haven't be in 25 years.

Switching Eating Habits
Brooke: If you're not following Atkins as written, you're not FOLLOWING Atkins. Perhaps Weight Watchers or Ediets is better suited to your needs. I did Atkins 10 years ago before having my daughter and lost 20 lbs, but after having her, I didn't have the time/energy/motivation to cook 2-3 different meals for the family and for me.

weight watchers points
If you go to a WW meeting location, you can buy a points calculator without joining. If you google weight watchers points quiz it gives you the quiz to figure out how many points you get per day too. I'm rejoining WW online on 9/1 (next payday after we return from vacation) but i use the handheld calculator I bought back before I quit going to meetings to figure out the points of what I eat for now.

Spinning
I put it as "other" and enter spinning. The Y has machines that tell you about how may cals you burn(for me it was 687 the other day)

Weight Watchers Points
Unforunately people complained that WW points weren't calculate properly so FS took DOWN the WW points calculator one day a couple of months ago. I was really disappointed, too, but I have a WW points calculator that I bought a couple of year ago(used to be a member, going back after we come back from vacation) and I use it with the numbers that are in here and just track them on my computer. It's a pain, but it's cheaper than paying for the WW site right now(I'm out of work).

weird things you see people do at the gym
btw, don't hold it against people who run in regular clothes. I don't have the $$$ to pay for 3 wardrobes, so yes, sometimes I workout in clothes that I've worn to work(I'm a sub teacher). I will usually put a t-shirt on instead of a dress shirt, but I don't always feel like changing into shorts(although now that it's getting hot, I plan to).
I hate the people that sit there and make weird noises like they're gonna die on the treadmill(if you're that uncomfortable, maybe you shouldn't BE running that fast???) or yell so loud you can hear them across the room while weightlifting(usually guys).
