How Often Do you weigh yourself?
Quote:
Lately I have been weighing myself everyday after I wake up, after every meal, and after I exercise as well as right before I go to bed I am paranoid about my weight

Your weight fluctuates by a couple pounds throughout the course of the day. This is an entirely normal, natural bodily function and has nothing to do with your weight loss. Do NOT weigh yourself more than once a day, and always weigh yourself at the same time every day.

For example, Saturday morning right out of bed I weighed 199. Sunday morning, about 3 hours after I got up, after eating breakfast, having a drink, etc. I was up to 202! This morning, back down to 199 right out of bed. That 3-pound gain - it doesn't exist. Why? Because I changed three things that can influence my weight. Different time of day, food in my stomach, and I'd had a few glasses of water already.

Do it right when you get up. Wake up, take care of the usual things you have to do right when you wake up, get on the scale. Then forget the scale even exists for the next 24 hours. Weighing yourself 4 times a day is obsessive and counter-productive. You will just get discouraged, for no valid reason at all.

Supposedly. http://fatsecret.com/connected/facebook

I just tried it and it set up an app that looks like FatSecret on my Facebook account, but I couldn't find a way to link the two.

How do I enter time on an elliptical machine?
I never noticed that "other" item before. I'll have to start using that, thanks. I think I did about 212 Kcal today.

I'm not sure if I completely trust the number the machine produces, but I guess it's more accurate than the stationary bike which doesn't take my weight as an input.

How do I enter time on an elliptical machine?
What type of exercise should I be entering for the time I spend on an elliptical machine? I prefer it over the stationary bike and try to hammer out 30 minutes of random hills/intervals a few times a week. But all I can see for entering it is "exercise machine" which seems wrong.

You read wrong...I said I do not gain weight when I start eating "normal" calories again...I said I gain or keep weight on when I work out.
Then what you're seeing is this:

* When you're working out, you're building/maintaining muscle. This is a good thing!

* When you're not working out, your body is breaking down muscle because you aren't eating enough calories. This is a very, very bad thing!

You are ignoring a lot of advice here that's grounded in decades of science and research by thousands of people with many, many years of study. You're looking at just 2 numbers - calories & pounds - and ignoring the quality of those calories and the content of those pounds. Stop making excuses for your eating & exercise habits. Stop shrugging off sound advice with "the exact opposite of what every doctor says is what works best for me."

You need to re-evaluate everything here. Your food, your workouts, and your mindset. If you eat properly, your workouts will help you burn off fat & improve your muscles. 5'4 @ 120 with toned, firm, defined muscles looks a lot better in a 2-piece than 5'4 @ 105 which is just skin & bones.
