Gastric Bypass Surgery
I was scared too...I'd never had so much as my tonsils out and my first surgery was a pretty big deal...to me at least.
I was always that person who was always shy and quiet, the one to enter a party and do my best to stay un-noticed by everyone. But I was about to make a major life change so I decided go big or go home, right? So I started off with a bang! I figured I ned nothing to lose but a lot of weight. I have to say, it has been well worth the hour or so of nervous waiting before they gave me the magic sleepy meds in my IV that day. I've lost enough weight that men flirt with me when I buy butter and at the gym...the GYM!!! I've been widowed for 7 years and no one has even glanced in my direction all that time so I can't convey how thrilled I am. It was definitely worth the fear. And think how proud of yourself you'll be for not only losing weight but overcoming a fear...if you decide to have some kind of surgery. No matter what you decide to do, food luck with your weightoss how ever it happens for you!

Gastric Bypass Surgery
I had the gastric sleeve in Dec 2013. So far I've lost a little over 100 lbs. It takes some adjustments, definitely a new way of thinking and eating...a new way of life in general. It's not like there's absolutely no way to fail to lose the weight. If you want to continue to have a horrible diet and not exercise, this surgery won't help. If you want to work your rear end off to lose the weight this surgery is great motivation. I don't regret doing it for a second. I know without it, I wouldn't have lost those 100 pounds

I'm not new here
On December 12, 2013 I had gastric sleeve surgery. I know that sounds like a cheat to weight loss, but it's not. Even with surgery, I still have to watch what I eat. Surgery just makes me physically unable to eat as much as I used to....IF I follow the rules. And lots of people who have weight loss surgery don't follow the rules and end up gaining weight.
So far, I have lost 84 lbs. I have gone from a person who was out of breath after slowly strolling through the grocery store to someone who can jog. I eat salads. I can turn down cookies and fudge and not feel like I'm missing some great part of life. I don't remember the last time I even saw a donut, let alone ate one.
It's not about the size of my stomach like it was when I first has surgery, although that certainly helped in the beginning. I've made enormous changes for the better that I know I can maintain. And those changes are what are bringing about a better me.
Very Happy
