My name is Corinna and I am a 35 year old mother of 4 beautiful children, two teenagers 18 and 15 and two toddlers ages 3 and 2. When I started out my goal was to lose about 50lbs, and I am on my way! I feel really motivated and hope I can not only lose weight, but get back to living a healthy lifestyle for good.

How much Fat is too much Fat?
Thanks Ebivr and Twinklebun. Also, Jesse_M, I have heard of the paleo diet, I actually have a few family members that are on it right now. However, I am really only trying to eat as healthy as possible not looking for a specific "diet" per se. I already have enough restrictions due to being vegan! lol, but thanks Smile

Eating and Smoking
Good job! Keep it up. I quit last June and it was the best decision I ever made. It is hard not to over eat when you quit smoking but here are a few tricks I used, hope they help. When you want to smoke, brush your teeth (weird but it works), chew on twizzlers (not too often though), chew on mint flavored tooth picks or even a straw. Also try sunflower seeds or pistachios, they keep your hands busy which is really important. Good luck! You can do this!!!!

How much Fat is too much Fat?
Just wondering how many grams of fat a day is good on a 1700 cal diet? I am vegan and eat pretty well (very few processed foods) mostly veggies, beans and grains, but I do use a good amount of olive oil and eat lots of avocado and nut butters so my fat can be pretty high (even though it is mostly good fat). Not sure if this is a big deal as long as I am staying under my max calories. I have been losing weight, but pretty slowly considering the amount of exercise I do and my virtually clean diet. I mean I almost never eat junk food or sweets, never eat white bread or simple carbs. My only indulgence is the very occasional little square of dark chocolate, a sprinkle of daiya "cheese" or some veganaise (which is made from grapeseed oil). Just wondering if my fat consumption might be the culprit. Any thoughts?

How do I record a restaurant soup?
I am not sure about the right way to do it, but for me I just look for roasted red pepper soup and then when I find one in the database I adjust the servings until it equals the 480 calories. Hope this helps!
