One for the ladies . . . how do you conquer those 'time of the month' bad food cravings?
I don't really conquer it. I also never realize it until after my period starts. I'll typically increase 500-1,000 calories a day easily, beginning 2 days ahead of time. It's as much savories as sweets though - today my splurge was a small store package of spinach pie and a pint of broccoli cheese soup. Yesterday I OD'd on Hopping John - a dish similar to black beans and rice. You'd think stuff like that would be safe because it's all real, all fresh and made from scratch. Doesn't work like that though.
Luckily after the first 24-36 hours things calm down though and I can return to my regularly scheduled meals with little incident.

Need to find carb counts...
for restaurant and other ready made food. We have to get 1-2 meals per week 'out' and I want to be able to have a list available to keep me closer to low carb than otherwise. I know Italian/pasta stuff is too-too much in the line of carbs for me now, but what about other stuff? Chinese for instance. Deli or pizza joint salads. Heaven forefend, but even the fried chicken joint. There are recipe and diet collections here, have any charts or studies of foods by genre been put up?

The closest I came to anything like that was in 7th grade. We went off to an environmental camp en masse and stayed for almost a week. A week of plain food + hiking around dropped me 10 pounds.

And then no 'other' at the end of that list?
Correct. I can put it in on Saturday, but having to wait almost a week between when I put the recipe in and when I can actually input it to my food diary is kind of rude. I might not remember.
