Weight has been a struggle since I was a fat little girl. I am only 5'2 so every pound shows, usually on my hips.

In 2005 I was diagnosed with MS and decided to take control of my weight then. I have lost about 35 pounds and only want to lose about 5-10 more, but it's a constant struggle.

I live in Alabama with a husband who never gains weight, maybe because I'm always dieting, and three rescue dogs who do. I love to garden and read.

No more advertisements
Where are all those buff guys you are seeing, classic? I'm seeing ads for kitty litter & glad wrap.

Keep it simple
I try to keep meals as simple as possible. Cereal for breakfast, soup for lunch, meat & vegetables for dinner. It just makes life easier and less stressful to not even have to think about it. It's all about eating mindfully.

What books helped you to understand food/diet better?
Thanks y'all for the book recommendations. I use diet books as cookbooks as the food is healthy and good. My favorite is The Miami Mediterranean Diet by Michael D. Ozner, M.D. It has especially good and easy soup recipes for the cold weather we are having here.
