HealthCare Exec. Last 16 years in hospice. Voracious reader. Addictive personality. Been very fit multiple times. Been overweight to fat multiple times. Ridden motorbikes all my life. Current passions tennis and trying to get back into running. Ran three marathons a few "decades" ago. sigh!!! Three grown sons, all struggling in this economy, another sigh. Update: now thorougly back into running, biking and revisited my tennis passion--playing disc golf and traditional golf sometimes--hard to get everything in with a 50+ hour work week--so up at 4 AM most days to get my biking and running in--worth it! And all of my son's are doing better financially

Increase Distance
I have been running for four months. Graduated from the c25k program in July. Found a free application for my blackberry called Micoach. This program is very customizable and it also has multiple real time coaching programs that can help you increase distance, pace, or train for various race distances. I can't speak highly enough about this software.
I have already safely increased my pace and my distance. Ran my 1st six miler Saturday and felt great throughout and after the run.
Worth looking at if you have an interest in structuring your running sessions for improvement.

Hi Karbear,

Thanks for the tips. I am entering all my intake. Will increase my carbs after induction as I seem to be more susceptable to them stalling this time. This is my third time on low carb, first in the seventies, lost 60 pounds, again in the nineties with about the same weight loss and now, once again (SIGH!!!) I have a similar weight loss to do.

Hi,

Today is my 14th day of induction and I have gone from 214.6 to 205. hope to drop another pound by weigh in tomorrow morning. Have been keeping my carbs below ten and have increased my exercise to over an hour a day. Goal weight is about 170. Plan to stay on induction til 190. may try a fat fast for three days next week.
