Since getting married 10 years ago, I gained over 50-60 pounds. During the past 10 years I have had a rough career history and some personal challenges -- all culminated to help me gain weight and feel awful about myself.

Last year (beginning of 2010) I finally got back in the gym. I have lost over 20 pounds, but still have a way to go to reach my goal. I have been going this alone and need others to help keep me motivated. Hopefully, I can help to motivate them too!

Water Bottle
Thanks for sharing!!!! Believe it or not, I just "lost" my water bottle at the gym -- someone grabbed it from one of the cubbies. It was one of my favorites, but very expensive. I didn't want to invest another $15 in a bottle only to have it taken again.

Anybody else struggling with food control?
I have found high protein snacks keep me in check. They tend to stop the "munchie" feeling I get if I snack on high carbs. The other thing that works for me is raw veggies.

My hubby works nights, and he often discusses how difficult it is to watch what he eats. He has put on over 20 pounds since taking on nights. He has recently started watching his food intake (and just like a guy!) lost most of that. He has been keeping a food journal.

Hope these ideas help!

Looking for 40something diet buddy!
I am 42 and have gotten serious about losing weight in this past year. I gradually took off 20 in the past year but, now am serious about fitness. I started boot camp 3 weeks ago and signed up for 12 weeks. I need a few buddies too! It is always so nice to have others to help motivate you and vice versa!

Hoping to find friends to stay motivated
Just found this site a day or so ago. Still getting familiar. Hope to find friends to help me stay motivated.

I am doing this alone and find that without someone to talk to and share highs and lows with, this can get tough and I find it hard to stay on track.

Hope to find others who can keep me on track and accountable -- I promise to do the same and be your best cheerleader!
