Scale moves slow
I do a workout! No, seriously, I get up and listen to my favorite song and dance to it like a fool. For me, I have to physically snap myself out of negative trains of thought. It's easier to laugh at myself than it is to feel sorry for myself and I had a bad habit of eating my sadness.

When I first started exercising - before it became a refuge and habit - there were days where I was weepy when I started my workout. I would actually cry when I couldn't nail a burpee or complete a pushup. I stuck out the sads and found that by the end it I felt sweaty but great, like I had accomplished something. I guess my point is that just doing things that make me healthier is enough to make me happy IF I stop and appreciate that I'm doing the best that I can.

If that dancing isn't your thing there are plenty of great motivational fitness quotes and pictures floating around the web. Having a folder of those that rotate as my desktop backgrounds helps keep me in the right mindset.

Also, when the scale isn't showing me what I want to see I will stay off it for a few days. The pitfall there is that necessitates being completely honest with your calorie counting and exercise tracking.

Fell "Off the wagon" over the holidays, but now back with the program!
Eight pounds in one week?! That is incredible, I don't have the discipline to increase my caloric deficit to lose more than 1-2 lbs a week so I'm a little envious. It's wonderful that you have such a positive focus and are back on the wagon. Smile

Insanity, P90X, Zumba, or Turbo Fire Which is the best???
Slim in 6 is one of the older series from Beachbody but its worth checking out as it is a great starting place. TurboFire is fun if you like to jump and bounce around your living room. I find Chalene really upbeat and fun to workout with. Women's Health has some great DVDs with Amy Dixon if you want to stray from the Beachbody lineup. Theres also a fun HIIT DVD called look better naked that is good for some variety.

If space, not cost is the concern the Bowflex SelectTech weights are fantastic, I really enjoy how compact they are. Plus they let me incorporate LeanExtreme into my workouts and more recently the Body Beast series. Personally, I found Tony and Shaun T obnoxious so those workouts were a waste but my pervy side enables me to appreciate the Body Beast series for the eyecandy and the humor.

Bowflex SelectTech Weights Easy to use? Worth it?
Awesome indeed! I've been using them for over a month now and I absolutely love them. Makes my workout area look so much tidier. Smile

low carbs for 2 weeks
Those are some crazy calorie deficits, I can see why you're frustrated. Don't give up though, you're on the right track! All that exercise has to be changing your body even if the scale isn't showing a big change in numbers.
