Length of Workout
Cardio is great in a lot of ways, but it really depends on what your goals are. Are you simply trying to keep aerobically fit? or do you want to gain overall fitness including muscle tone and what not? If you are considering this, then I would suggest looking at some form of body weight workout and or interval training.

Remember, the only bad workout is the one that didn't happen.

Walking Tips
I'm not sure if you have already seen it or not, but check out 'Prancercise' on youtube. It is hilarious, however it might just be something that interests you if you like walking/jogging.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
It is not good to weigh your self every day. If you do this you will see all the ups and downs in your weight, but may not consider all the variables involved. It can be discouraging and or give a false idea of your actual weight. Weighing yourself once at either the start or end of each week is a good indicator of how your weight loss/gain is progressing.
