I was always thin, in fact never even thought about weight control -- even after I had two children.
Then... I had a hysterectomy which plunged me into instant menopause and wowee, it's a HUGE deal! I have gone up and down the scale like a kid riding a roller coaster. About three month's ago, I decided to get serious about getting it off permanently.
I knew that a radical diet would not work, I needed something I could incorporate into my daily life -- something that invovled eating what I consider normally. My plan:
to reduce eating out at restaurants to once/maybe twice a week (& save $$ as well, bonus)
to log my calories and attempt to stay within 1400 - 1700 calories a day.
to walk 45 minutes five days a week and add thirty minutes of strength training three days.
Well, it's been working fairly well... I'm losing weight slowly but surely. It may take me seven months to get it all off, but it will (hopefully) give me seven months to make permanent adjustments.
