I'm a 30 something New Englander that needs to shed off years of bad habits. I'm retraining my brain how to think regarding food, as well as fueling my body with nutrients to better my mental health (depression, anxiety, OCD....and eventually I want to start a family.

Lover of heavy metal, punk, and rock music. Artist, musician, banker, and one bad ass motherf**ker.

I am not new to losing weight...or using a website. I just left another website that became toxic and really need to buckle down and focus on losing this weight again, once and for all. All highly motivated people welcome :)

My WL blog-shrinkingwits.weebly.com

I love to lift weights. I follow the Stronglifts 5x5 program. Current stats:
OHP-70lbs
DL-170lbs
Bench Press-65lbs
Squat-95lbs
Penley Row-65lbs

When I can't lift I am hiking, walking, playing outside. Love the site Nerdfitness.com...great place for recipes, advice, and motivation/inspiration. Check it out!

again I am a failure wasn't able to stay on it. I lost 4 stupid pounds. my surgeon wont even talk to me he talks to anyone else in the room. my husband and I just came back from a consultation with the surgeon . the doctor couldn't even look at me . I can't tell you how many times he commented about my weight. I am so unbelievably sad. just want to give up. sorry for being such a downer. Confused

Sounds like you need a new doctor...regardless of the situation, that is not how a doctor should act. And please...PLEASE don't let anyone treat you like that. Speak up for yourself. Yes you didn't complete what he expected of you, but you aren't a failure, you are simply struggling.

Motivation
Working out and eating healthy will result in increased energy levels. Stop telling yourself you can't make it happen and push through the mental wall of "tired". How is your schedule? Do you go to the gym? AM easier than PM or vise versa? I always feel exhausted. Working two jobs and trying to fit in exercise and a social life is freakin hard! So....I gave up my lunch hour to walk. When I'm home, if I decide I'm not going to the gym to lift, I stay home and do bodyweight workouts. (If you have never read Nerdfitness.com, go check it out! Has great bodyweight workouts!)

Also...just keep reminding yourself the reasons why you want to lose weight...heck...make a collage of pics or sayings or reasons and leave it somewhere where you will see it. If you see it a few times and still decide you are too tired, then go to bed.

Hi there....

in the end as with most things in life its about choices?

what are you prepared to do get what you want?

You know how to do it but can you sustain it?

I have spent my adult life making the wrong choices...I have started to finally turn my life around and my thinking...so my choice is to lose weight and keep it off. It's hard to explain how I feel mentally and emotionally now compared to in the past when I just reverted back to my old habits. I still had some things to learn about myself...and I have learned what I needed to know.

I have set my house up for success...foods that will get me there. I have a membership at a great gym...I have a new support group of friends with similar goals...and now I have this site to help me track and stay accountable.

The last time(s) I tried to lose weight...I didn't want it for me.

Now I do. I want to have a baby. I want to run a marathon and I certainly want to be able to play for hours with my newphew due to come into this world in August.

Point being...I've found the fire inside again...I'd been a dull ember of light for many years...now I WANT it.

Smile And I need supportive and motivated buddies...and not ones that will coddle me and/or be worried about making me butthurt. I want the hard honest truth. Always.
