I work a desk job all day but try to walk around as much as possible and in nice weather even go out for a walk on breaks. Children are grown and gone but enjoy the freedom of empty nesters. Recent medical issues have prevented me from doing what I love - hiking. After two years I am beginning to get back to a sense of okay and want to improve my overall health, eat clean - more fruit and veggies, less meat, keep it local produce and/or organic if possible. Processed carbs are my weakness.
I had extensive abdominal surgery about three months ago and still struggling just to stand up straight. But, it is time to get back in the fitness center and start lifting light weights and reactivating my old self. Zumba was my passion before surgery and now I can barely wiggle my hips so that will be my first goal - get back to that hip action.
