Want to Do Percentages of a Favorite Meal (i.e., 1/2, 1/4 etc.)
Thank you so much. That is what I was looking for. Much appreciated.

Want to Do Percentages of a Favorite Meal (i.e., 1/2, 1/4 etc.)
I am hoping one of you can help me with a shortcut here:

I have started using several smoothie recipes with a lot of ingredients. Typically will make a blender full in the morning, have part for breakfast, the rest for lunch. Sometimes sharing with other family members. So what I have done is entered the full blender recipes.

What I would then like to be able to do is to enter say 1/4 of Smoothie 1 Meal. But it enters all the ingredients and I would have to go in and revise each ingredient. I know there is a better faster way so hopefully one of you can help.

Thanks in advance,
Tom

metabolism over 40
Two keys:
1) Add exercise, both strength training to build muscle (which takes more calories to maintain) and aerobic training, which not only burns calories but keeps your metabolism elevated for some period even after te exercise.
2) Eat 4-6 smaller meals throughout the day. Skipping meals or fasting causes your body to slow your metabolism.

I just hope all on Atkins will review the studies on long-term health and consider the possible consequences. Too many negative health issues shown in numerous studies. Even Dr. Atkins himself had blocked arteries. There is no magic in any diet. Ultimately it is the simplicity of caloric intake versus calories burned = weight gain/loss. Now healthwise, there are vast differences based on what those intake calories consist of.

Im sorry but I think by and large diets dont work, at least longer term. You need to find something you can live with long term, a change in nutrition plan, not a diet. Otherwise, most will just put it all back on once they end the diet! I hate the term, especially when you look at the first three letters. What has worked for me is eating small meals more frequently, it takes planning, but I do it. I cannot imagine going back to eating (overeating) huge meals. I just feel miserable when I overeat now, and it is nothing compared to what I used to eat. Best of luck to you. I use this site to track my food and exercise, try to get a balance of fat/carb/protein and I have steadily lost 1-2 pounds per week with no structured exercise. Very recently started biking, but most of the loss was with no real exercis. Best wishes on your new eating plan.
