57 years old, 5'-2" 1 wonderful husband, 1 very independent daughter. Was 124 lbs when I got married almost 30 years ago and my weight has been creeping up ever since. Love to cook (stumbled onto FS website while researching recipes and took it as a sign); really don't like to exercise.
Did WW 9 years ago so I wouldn't be the fat sister at my parent's 50th wedding anniversary - got down to the 130s, looked great in the dress, then gained it all back.
Want to be lean and fit and stop my stress-eating response to things in my life I can't change:
Retirement-age husband who would dearly love to be retired.
17 year old daughter's first-ever boyfriend. (He's great, she's a challenge.)
Same daughter leaving for college in the fall. (Actually looking forward to empty nesting but all change comes with some degree of stress.)
82 year old mother with Alzheimers I see 3-4 times a week, still fiercely determined she's in charge of a life she can't manage.
Still tired of being the fat sister but that's one I can change. Despite years of promising this to myself, this anniversary my wedding ring will fit on my finger again.
Have been all over this site for the last 3 days - overwhelmed at times at all that is here, trying to figure out where to begin and how it all works. But I feel I have found the right place to start my journey and look forward to supporting others on theirs.
