Have recently turned 30, but been overweight since my late teens when I went off to college and discovered that drinking, fast food and chasing loose women were a lot more fun than playing sport! It wasn't a problem at first, because at 6ft 3 I could carry some weight and it wasn't a huge deal, but as time has gone on the problem has become worse and working long hours in an office I have become less active.
Have tried many times to lose weight by exercising, sometimes with great success but eventually piled the pounds back on when I got bored of going to the gym. This is the first time I've tried a strict diet. Although I've often tried to watch what I eat, I've never paid attention to level of carbs, or the fat/ sugar content on my plate. Have really enjoyed the Low GI diet so far, and taking more time for food preparation and a little exercise.
Am relieved to see that there are many other people out there going through the same thing, and it makes me feel a little less like I'm doing this on my own.
