Hi I live in Tucson and absolutely love it here. I live for the heat. Summer's my favorite time of year.

I'm an artist working on a book concept which I intend to make a graphic novel of. The ultimate goal is an anime.

We'll see how it works out. So far people who've read my book love the story.

Why am I not losing weight
Here's something to consider. Stop weighing yourself and start using a tape measure. Two decades ago I had a motorcycle accident. One of the benefits after the accident was I started working with an athletic trainer. He taught me that muscle weight weighs more that fat weight; and that I shouldn't be measuring my success by the scale but by the measuring tape. His goal for me was steady weight loss and we only weighed in once a month. Another thing to consider is this a pound of fat is going to weigh the same as a pound of muscle. The difference is going to be the mass i.e. a pound, or I guess I should say a KG of fat is going to be physically larger than a KG of muscle. And healthy muscle weight is not bad for you. Also consider this, our bodies do tend to plateau when it comes to weight loss; and that's normal. You will have periods of time when nothing seems to be changing. Don't beat yourself up because of that. Just accept it and continue to do what's right for your body. As long as you're eating healthy and you are exercising properly, be at peace. You're doing the right thing. Throw the scale away. I don't own one. I get once every 3 months when I get my A1C checked with my doctor. Last time I was weighed was last week. In three months I lost 18 lbs i.e. 8.2 kg and all I did was exercise and eat healthy. And I didn't weigh myself.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I stopped weighing myself. I just get it checked once every 3 months when I get my A1C checked which I just did this morning. I've lost interest in knowing what I weigh from week to week. It's just so much more satisfying when I go in, after 3 months, and find I've lost significantly more than I thought possible. It's just so much more encouraging. It makes me feel like this is working. I'm thinking of taking to a measuring tape once a month out of curiosity; but I'm not getting on that scale except in the doctor's office. Oh by the way, got to crow. A1C went down from 6.5 to 5.7 in 3 months and my BP is perfect.
