I am a young 52 year old, enjoy all things arts and crafts. Have recently taken up photography and am loving it. I live in Durban, South Africa. I always had a reasonably good figure and then when I was about 38 I needed to loose about 4 Kg's so I went on those machines that zap you, promising instant weight loss and - oh yes I got it, but the problem is that within a month, I had picked up the 4 Kg's + 2 and so my yo-yo dieting began. I have now found this site and am determined to loose my weight the healthy way even if it slowly but surely.

I don't know what to do
Hi Buttercup, I am not shure how old you are, but I am thinking that if you are old enough to post on fatsecret you are old enough to say no to your Mother. Do this for yourself, all you need to do is eat a healthy diet and you needn't even tell anyone that you are on a diet. Say no to cakes and sweets don't eat oily chips and fast foods, just have a small bowl of healthy cereal or a boiled egg and whole wheat toast for breakfast a piece of fruit in between breakfast and lunch a healthy sandwich or chicken/tuna salad for lunch Fruit snack between lunch and dinner and then at dinner time eat a small protein with lots of healthy vegetables - No starving and the weight will come off. If you go out don't tell people you are dieting - if they offer you food that is fattening just say " No thank you I have just eaten before I came out and couldn't eat another thing" -end of story. Oh and don't forget to drink lots of water.
