I've been trying, unsuccessfully, to lose weight for years and have tried every idea out there (calories in vs. calories out does NOT apply when you have an endocrine disorder). Never could figure out what I was doing wrong. Succeeded briefly in 2007 with Weight Watchers, but then plateaued and couldn't move past it. Got married, gained weight UNCONTROLLABLY, got really, really tired (didn't know why). In 2009, I suddenly felt energetic and motivated, so I tried losing again and dropped 20 pounds in two weeks, nearly without trying! Then...it stopped and, once again, I was unable to move past my plateau of 214. I researched my tail off, diagnosed myself with Hashimoto's thyroiditis, then had doctors run tests, got treatment (Armour), and expected to lose weight again. I plateaued at 211 for 9 flippin' months and stayed on my eating plan the whole time. Then, I gave up. Gained back all of my weight and felt panicky, hopeless, and resentful.
Fast forward to present (March 2011), I stumble upon a diet that I've never really noticed before. HCG and the Simeon's Pounds and Inches protocol. I read. Then read some more. Suddenly, my hope is (tentatively) coming back. I order my homeopathic drops, read the manual, and join a discussion forum for HCGers. As of this writing, I'm on my second day of VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) and feeling freakin' amazing. I dropped 5.8 pounds overnight. I am praying to God that this continues. I'm also praying to God that the HCG will help "reset" some of my endocrine functions, as pregnancy did for me years ago.
This is my HCG journey to a slim, healthy, sexy, more confident me.
