Hello everyone, my name is Jeanne Pruitt, I am a single mom of two teens. I have chronic kidney failure and have dialyis four times a week. I need to lose weight to get a kidney transplant. That is one of the many reason I want to lose weight. I also have AIDS and want to be as healthy as possible and believe being thinner will help with that. Also...I have a closet FULL of clothes I can no longer wear...lol
Getting back into my cute clothes is a huge motivation. Im tired of buying my clothes at the mens big and tall section at Burlington.
Also, I have been dabbling with the idea of gastric bypass, I just got approval from both of my Dr.s today and am very excited. I realize this is a huge step and am taking the process extremely slowly.
Im happy to have a place to share my journey.

Milk or Milkesq products
Hello all,
I am a milk fiend and Adkins does not allow. Boo Hoo. I finally found something I can drink. It takes a while to get used to it, but "It can be done"
It is "Silk" soy milk, (unsweeted) make sure it is the unsweetened type. When I get it home, I add half a cup of splenda to the half gallon and it tastes much better. You WILL get used to this. It's a far cry from milk, but it is a nice substitution.
Give it a try all you milk lovers.Very Happy

MILK
Please help, anyone...I cant take "no milk" for one more day. Last time I was on Atkins about 2 years ago there was this great product, I believe it was called "Hood"? It was a low carb milk. I cant find it anywhere. Anyone know what Im talking about, or perhaps know of a good milk sub that we atkinites can drink. I'll appreciate any input. Thanks a million.

Ketchup
I am also a ketchup lover...lol and I love A-1 also. I recently found that A-1 has a low carb version and it tastes just the same. Yummo.
