Hi there!

I started gaining weight from about the age of 8 and struggled through my teens. I started to extreme diet at the age of 17 and yo-yo dieted for years. When I was 25 I was over 200 pounds, which was at my heaviest and my skin and hair were in really bad condition. I started introducing good habits like drinking 2 pints of filtered water per day and gradually started to improve. Over the course of 2 years I lost about 30 pounds.

I then found some exercise that I loved but plateaued at about 168. Finally I discovered calorie counting which brought me to the next level of about 154 pounds.

My forever goal is to get to 140 pounds but am not sure if my body wants to go there.

Following the advice of a trainer, I have started weight training and tried intermittent fasting with lots of protein. I like what I eat now and my whole system feels great when I follow the paleo plan, but I cannot work with the whole 'cheat day/hour' and just end up going on a binge. So while I like the quality of the food that I am eating, I also need to follow calorie counting as it makes me feel in control.

I have been gradually creeping back up towards 168 and I need to take control!!! I am currently 162 and need to start making strides to decrease and get rid of some of this fat that I am carrying around!

Why is losing the last 6kg so darn difficult!?
Ok, am hoping this is a good forum for me.

I have tried so many things over the past few years, lots of running and kickboxing while wearing a bodymedia armband and counting calories to gauge calorie balance, etc!!! Then being advised that I was doing too much exercise, I couldn't keep increasing my training as I was doing so much already, so I changed to strength training so as I could keep increasing my activity without increasing my time spent, etc. Am restarting once again after Christmas and pigging out over the 2 weeks - 7 pound gain..... had a good 3 week start and then had an awful week this last week when work got real busy.

Even though my body fat percentage is about 30% I was finding it so hard to lose weight, so now I do - strength training and HIIT kickboxing and walk/sprints. I am trying to find a balance of increasing my intake of protein and as low a carb intake that I can handle without going into a binge..... this is where I am failing. Am lasting Monday to Saturday and then Sunday I binge and cannot help myself!!!

So all n all, I am feeling like a failure and need to get back on track, I have found that strict calorie counting worked before but also drove me insane when the figures didn't seem to give me the results I was after even when I was really strict.

So all support is needed please. I got as far as 147pounds and didn't hold it at all but loved being that weight!! I hit a plateau and couldn't get passed it so bit by bit my weight is increasing!
