I am 5"7"& 217# mostly happily married woman of 21 years, we are a hockey family, my husband Dan coaches and both of my sons played, my 31 year old body builder son is 6"3" worked in granite until last week when he tore his shoulder, my 20 year old son 6"6" son referees hockey & is a busy college student, my sweet & evil 17 year old daughter is 5"7" & 217# she is a senior in high school & she has asthma, Hashimoto's & allergies, she is a beautiful girl, she has gained weight but is comfortable as she is & does not act concerned, that is hard for me because I have struggled all of my life, I was as tall as I am now in 4th grade & awkward & turned to food, I am a stress eater & a happy eater & a bored eater, I love food, I turned 50 on June 30 & did not make my weight goal or even close, hmmmm, could it be because I sit on my ass & work 2 computer jobs (65-70 hours per work) & sleep 4-5 hours Sun-Thurs or is it my bad food choices or is it because I party like a rock star, I work hard & I play hard, our social calendar is very busy, Summer was hard, I am in a biggest losers contest at work for 8 weeks ending 12/22, it is great incentive, I have 47-57 pounds to lose & I feel best doing low carb, I have done Atkins, WW, Jenny Craig, Medical Weight Loss, Calorie Counting & I get discouraged after awhile & fall back into my habits, I have added protein shakes/bars to my diet & my clothes feel better but the scale doesn't move, I walk for 30 minutes at the office during lunch most days & I try to make it to the gym at least 4x per week but sometimes I am too tired or busy to make it more than 2x, I enjoy reading all of your posts & I am going to use the food journal because I think recording what I eat helps keep me accountable, alcohol is a problem because I have a hard time behaving the next day, we bowl once a month & have a lot of holiday parties coming up, Lord give me strength, I am on & off line all of the time & would love to hear from you, Cheers to you all!
