I started my account here to learn more about counting my macros. I soon realized that it is a cool community of goal oriented health seeking individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Congrats and I'm proud of your initiative.
My name is Sal. I have been athletic my entire life. Began lifting weights in high school, joined the military and dropped from a muscular 225 to 162 lbs in 9 months from the endless intense fitness training. That low eight didn't last, but I maintained a healthy physique rather well at ranges of 190-210 with my weight training and diet throughout the years. I recently turned 30 and suddenly dropping a few lbs has become quite a challenge even with a combination of training and diet. So now instead of "winging" it, I've decided to start counting my macros and stepping my game up a bit in order to learn more about how my body works and responds to certain foods, sleep, and macro ratios.
I had recently dropped 12 lbs from doing more cardio in the gym and making that a focal point rather than lifting weight, but I know that maintaining a healthy weight starts in the kitchen, not the gym. I went from 238 lbs to 226 and that is when I started my account. So far I am very pleased and still getting to know the site, so I will engage in more contact and utilize more benefits as I go.
