I am married, 43 yrs. and am 63 yrs. old. I have lived on a farm for most of my married life, with a dog, a cat and two horses.
We love the horses, but... we are getting too old to ride and now we allow them to eat in the field and watch them run and play.
I have been gaining weight since DH retired 5 yrs ago and am tired all the time, no energy, hurting most of the time, and I want to feel better, and get into my old jeans ago, since I can't fit into them right now. I plan on losing this weight and feeling better too. I do have some people who have lost weight on the Atkins plan and they are an inspiration to me.

Doing my exercises daily.
Smile I won't be I do buy some expensive things and it has never helped in our 43 yrs. of marriage. So... I must work on it day by day.
An Yes NM I think that Coffee is the most essential drink of the day. I don't function well without it and now that DH drinks it like I do, then he doesn't see why I drink so much LOL He is addicted to it too.
I have also noticed that if I don't do those exercises as soon as I can in the mornings I have a tendency to postpone them, to another day and once I start that, it is so hard to get back on-track with them again, so that is the biggest reason for me to get them done early as possible. Works best for me.

Doing my exercises daily.
Hello, Since I have already stated in a former post that I do exercises daily I will further state that I do about 25 minutes of Stretching and Toning to get my muscles back into the shape they should be in, instead of the shape they are in now.
I have only been doing them for one week but in that week I can tell my waist is getting smaller as when I put on my jeans they are finally getting loose, again.
I want to get back into my clothes I bought last year for my nieces wedding and the only way I know to get there is by working out every day. Rolling Eyes
I sometimes get up and start doing them while the coffee is making but most mornings I wait until after my first cup of coffee to start. That seems to work better for me.

question for exercise experts
Very Happy Yes you are right in your assumption of using weight machines.
I used to go to the gym three days a week and that was something they stressed daily to whoever would listen.
I think that any exercise done should be done slowly and with great focus. When you do anything focused you get a better workout and you control your body better than if you are just hurrying thru a set or routine.
All the books I have read on exercising states to go slowly and deliberately thru the workout and you will get greater results quicker, with less harm to your muscles.
