I am 25 and just finished my associate's degree. I love video games, comics, Doctor Who, lazer tag, anime, all of japan for the most part, and anything considered nerdy. I have a 2 year lab mix named Zero after the "Nightmare Before Christmas" dog and also the patient zero concept in zombie movies.

I didn't add the dreaded "freshman 15" in college because I was there before I ever left High School. (sigh)When I was just becoming 10 I went from kid sizes to adult sizes in the blink of an eye. (almost) I also packed on the pounds. I went through such big growth spurts that made me eat a ton of food. The spurts suddenly stopped but my craving for food didn't. :( After that I haven't been under about 180 since I was 12 or 13. Recently it got worse though and I became 199 lbs! Thats when I started trying to change because I didn't want to become my mother who is over 200 lbs. Nothing has really worked because I have a hard time commiting to anything when it comes to my health. School I can commit to easliy so I am using the challenges on this site as if they are classes. (This is why I sign-up for so many.) I hope here I can find the motivation I need to have before I go for my BA in the next couple of years.

First things first though... I need to move out of my parent's place (again) and organize a wedding. (just one of the reasons to lose weight) I need to lose weight to feel better for myself, not feel like I'm a fish out of water with my breathing, to look great doing cosplay, and to be able to do my future career. I hope I can make lots of friends here and hopefully some local workout buddies. (near Wilmington, NC or Shallotte, NC anybody?)

leg cramps
I do a lot of walking and lower body exercises. I am going to try to add vitamins to my day. Thanks guys for the advice and the list of foods.

Thanks guys! I already drink a lot of water but the potassium thing might help. Do you know of any other foods that are a good source of potassium?

leg cramps
I have always had a problem with charlie horses (extreme cramps) in my legs. It is becoming more of a problem the more I walk and exercise. I haven't had a major cramp yet but I can feel the tightness in the back of my legs. I can just tell that I may have a big one soon. Does anybody have suggestions on what would help with the pain in my legs?

help with food
Thanks for the advice! I only eat salads with meat, cheese, and nuts but it doesn't seem to help. I only drink water unless I am eating out in a resturant and then it is tea. I do eat a lot of bread, pasta, and rice but they are all whole wheat. I thought that would make it better... If it doesn't then what should I replace them with? I eat lots of sandwiches so I don't know what else I can use that is just as easy. Any more suggestions?

help with food
I am running into a big problem with my food intake. I get hungry and eat big amounts of food. Usually this makes me go over my calorie limit. I am also tired a lot of the time because I am trying to go to bed earlier and get up earlier. This makes it hard to exercise to counter my food intake. When I try to eat something healthy it doesn't seem to fill me for that long. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there a way to make my stomach smaller so I don't get as hungry as often or maybe a way to stop cravings?
