My name is Sherrie,
I have been up and down on my weight for years. I am trying to lose my extra weight and keep it off. I started my weight-loss journey at 230 lbs.

A little back story, about a year and a half ago I had 2 doctors telling me I'd most likely never walk again. I was stuck in a wheelchair. I no longer see those doctors. I can walk(with a cane, or on really bad days, a walker)! In your face doctors!!! Not only can I walk, but I can exercise and have been.

I do Zumba, I have my walker in front of me, just in case, but for the most part, I am doing it. I sometimes have to hold on to keep my balance or if pain starts to be too bad. I don't always get the upper body workout, but right now I am strengthening my legs. I will walk without an aid, I am going to do it!

I also suffer from Non-Epileptic Seizure Disorder(that just means they can't figure out why i have them). I will not let these things get me down. I suffer from depression, also. I do have to take medications everyday for all my conditions(which I hate), but it has to be.

I'm usually a happy person, and like to be encouraging. I try not to let things get me down, I will not let depression win! I am going to win, with a little help from my friends!! :-)

Anyone else get workout gear for Christmas?
I got 3 yoga/pilates dvd's, a yoga matt, and a pair of 2.5 lb toning sticks for zumba, just what I had asked for! I love them, it couldn't have been much better of a X-mas! Smile

OT: How do you say "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year".
Happy Holidays! I used to know how to say it in Polish, but that memory got lost along the way. We celebrate Christmas Day with a nice dinner of ham and sometimes turkey(hubby's not a big fan of the bird) sweet potatoes, I'm gonna try a new broccoli dish, mashed potatoes and gravy. For dessert, we have a deep dish pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top. Candies for the kids(even though the kid and girlfriend are both over 21, LOL). Then we sit back and watch some sort of movie and drift off in our chairs. I wish everyone Happy Holidays!Smile

My fellow zumba pals please read this.
Hello, my name is Sherrie. I just wanted to clarify something about my exercise routine. I do zumba. When I'm at my best, I do 2 hours of it, not all at once as some of my buddies may think. I do the dvd's at home and between each different dance section, there is a brief pause, maybe 5-10 seconds of which you can get a drink or wipe the sweat off or what ever. If I do the full 2 hours I max out at, it takes me about 2 1/2 hours to do the whole thing. I take breaks, I have to, and I don't push beyond my limits and limitations. I am partially diabled, and have a walker in front of me(I use it like a ballet bar) when I do exercise. Embarassed
I just wanted everyone to know the truth so that any one who thinks they wish to compete with me knows how I work it. I'm not saying I'm in competition with anyone, and I really don't want anyone to think they have to compete with me. I want to workout and have fun, and I wish the best for everyone who is on their own weight-loss journey, but PLEASE, do not push yourself beyond your body's limits, you know when enough is enough, and I applaud everyone who does more than I do! Just know your body and have fun with it. It's not a sprint, it's a lifetime marathon! Enjoy the ride! Very Happy Cool

Here in America, we call it "Veteran's Day", also a salute to those who paid the price for our freedom, some of them, the ultimate price! I had a brother who served in the Army for 10 years as a MP, he has since past away, so today I salute him and ALL other soldiers from all walks of life who proudly served their contries for all of our freedoms! Thank You to all the armed services for your sacrifices!
