When I broke my shoulder last year that's when it finally clicked with me that I needed to do something about myself, for myself. At the doctor the scale came in at 344 and that was enough for me. That was May 19th. Since then I have discovered Hungry Girl, an android app called Points Plus Diary and the gym. The combo of them all seems to work for me. Besides the gym I find myself hiking as much as 10 miles at a time. I also forgot how much I love to dance and am very thankful for Zumba for reminding me. I am doing this for myself, but also hoping to show my teenage son that if someone as stubborn and bullheaded as me can make a lifestyle change like this and find it actually fun, and not really work, then maybe it will rub off on him. I would really like to be a better role model for him. I've come a long way, but still have a lot further to go and look forward to every step of the way :)
