What are your thoughts on cardio vs weight training?
Nima, I'm glad you mentioned protein intake. This is my new struggle, trying to incorporate enough protein, but yet keeping my rdi to see weight loss. I started incorporating protein powder in lo cal smoothies on the days I lift but that bumps my caloric intake out of whack. Open to suggestions!

To Cheat Day or Not to Cheat Day?
To me, having a cheat day still suggests that you are ON a diet, a temporary thing, instead of changing your diet. If you take your focus off of food, and on to health, the need to "cheat" is taken away. Try not to deprive yourself of the things you love. These should be worked into to your daily eating plan in moderation to take away that feeling of being cheated. Special occasion, go ahead and enjoy yourself, then get back on track the next day. Carb cycle ahead of time, decreasing your carbohydrate intake a few days before the wedding, to compensate for the bigger meal. Pre plan - if you know what's being served, chose things you love, without sabatoging your diet. Trying to lose weight doesn't mean you have to sacrifice every treat in the world. It does mean changing your perspective on what is a treat, and what isn't. Personally, I'd rather treat myself with a sexy dress to show up in at said event than to focus on the food that will be served. Good luck with what you decide.

Oh Boy
When do you take time for you in your day? I started getting up earlier in the a.m. (and I am not a a.m. kind of gal!) just for my ME time. This is when I do a workout. Some days it'll be 30 minutes, some days an hour. But, I find, that this actually gives me more energy during the day & I cope better with the busy schedule. I do DVD's at home, and mix it up between cardio & weights. No time for boredom! And the results, bring there own motivation. When I least feel like it, is when I need it most.

Motivating Quotes
Great quotes!
It's your attitude, not your aptitude, that determines your altitude - Martin Luther King
If you still good at the end of the workout, you didn't work hard enough - unknown
trust the process - Bob Harper
Don't sit when you can stand, don't stand when you can walk, don't walk when you can run - unknown

Thigh problem
P90x is a workout set on DVD that you can buy. If you are just starting out there are less intense ones on the market! I'll attest to the thigh issue. It does go away. It just takes time. There are a lot of numbers thrown around, and I think they cloud the issue. The number on the scale is just that, a number. Do your clothes fit better? Are you able to carry things around easier? If you weight lift are you able to do heavier weights now? Look at you positive attributes! That is what will carry you through. Don't look at spot reduction, but overall fitness. I will recommend ballet body lower body workout by Leah Sarago. Low impact, great workout for the Lower body.
