I was never really fat except after becoming a mom at 38. I teach part-time, write part-time and raise 2 young children, 7 and 2. I love to cook, dance (zumba!) read, travel and see exhibitions and theatre plays.
I am also a wine and beer lover and a news junkie of the worst kind.

I am not very good with restriction. It leads to overdoing stuff for me. That is just the way I am.

I hope you give a try to my non-dieting approach The happy diet Rebel.
I will let you know how it goes.

Starting over
Hi Lulucan,
I am sorry to hear you are having such a hard time. It is very hard to lose weight after forty. I am in the same boat. I think the thing is to find a way of eating that you can live with. But also to not focus too much on food or on the scale. Live your life. Have some fun. Do some relaxing things that you love. I have found the the Swarzbein principle, a way of eating where you only calculate your carb, but you also focus on moving your body and learn how to relax. She also suggest hormonal therapy but I don't want to to that. The info's online, just google it or EMP. Did you try Intuitive eating?
Take care,
Nath

The Happy Rebel diet
Thanks Natalie. I certainly will. The funny thing is that it is not as easy as it sounds. Since I cook for my entire family (2 kids, 1 man and myself) I am always around food and I do eat while I cook or eat standing up at the counter or stuff like that. This plan, I hope, will teach me better habits - and I know better...Congratulations on your weight loss! Way to go!

The Happy Rebel diet
Hi there,

I am so fed up with diets that just thinking about it make me want to overeat.Laughing So, I have created this diet that is not really a diet. Basically, I eat three meals a day, I don't snack, I drink icy water with cinnamon or lemon if hungry between meals and always sit down and eat everything with a fork and a knife without any distraction. I also try to cook everything from scratch if possible. That's it. Let's see if it works. More details on the Happy Rebel diet on my profile.
Good luck to everyone.
