I am 41 years old, married, and have three kids. My oldest son is living in Japan (he's in the Navy), my daughter is in high school, and my youngest son is in 7th grade. The two younger kids keep my husband and I busy with sports, but we love it!

I started a big weight gain a few years ago when I went back to school...way too much sitting. Turning 40 didn't help either! It is a lot harder to lose weight now than in the past.

This website has been a tremendous help for me. Tracking my calorie intake and my exercise output has helped keep me more accountable than in the past. My progress has been slow, but I am happy with it so far.

LOL...I had lied on my driver's license by 10 pounds as well. I am now very close to my DL weight of 150. I still have two years on my current DL. Not sure if I'll request a new one, because I actually like my picture. Smile

Too Funny! Thanks for sharing, it put a smile on my face and made me "giggle."

I've tried Bikram Yoga and it made me severely nauseous. How long have you been doing it? Do you drink water during the session?

Weigh ins
I "weigh-in" once per week. I weigh myself everyday to watch how my body flucuates and reacts to certain things, such as not enough water, eating late at night, etc. However, I have found that recording it on this site once per week works best for me.

I hateee cooking!!!!
punzee, I feel the same. I cannot explain why I hate it, I just do. My mom loves to cook, but I guess that gene didn't get passed on to me! I'd rather mow the lawn, vacuum, or clean the bathroom than cook. So, this eating healthier thing has been a challenge. I do a lot of what Erie32 does. I always have fruit on hand. Plus, I try to keep a stash of healthy stuff at the office, such as oatmeal, raw almonds, cottage cheese, skim milk, string cheese, whole wheat crackers, etc. Every morning I grab a couple of pieces of fruit to take with me. Now, the evenings can be a challenge when I have a family to feed, but I make it quick and find a substitute for myself. I keep it simple and use different spices to change it up. I have found that tilapia cooks quickly. I add some veggies or a spinach salad...done. Smile
