Current Weight:(16 May 13) 131.8 lb
Goal Weight:125.0 lb
following: Eat healthy lose weight!
performance: losing 0.1 lb a week

UPDATE: August 3, 2010
I just had baby #2. My starting weight was 126.8 my weight on d-day (June 28) was 167. My weight has now stabilized at 153, and I'm ready to shed the baby weight. Here we go again.

UPDATE: July 13, 2009
I successfully maintained the weight of 127 lbs for almost a year! I am so proud of myself. As of lately, though, I have gotten really slack and gained back 2 pounds. It took a lot of hard work and determination to lose all that weight in the first place, but I did it, and now I'm ready to do it again. This time my weight loss goal is a lot smaller--only 14 pounds. I know I can do it!

First Entry: December 11, 2007
I'm a first time mom. My son recently turned 2 months old. I was very athletic all the way through college. Until now, I never really had to worry about my weight, but I gained 15 pounds after getting married 2 years ago, so I didn't exactly start my pregnancy off healthy. I gained 30 pounds during my pregnancy, which is about average, but since I was overweight to begin with I probably should have only gained about 15-20. Needless to say, I had quite a bit of baby weight to lose.
My short-term weight goal is 130 pounds, but long-term I would like to get down to about 120-125 and stay there.
My "diet" plan is not really a diet at all, it's a total lifestyle revamp. It's all about portion control, healthy food and exercise. I joined an adult swim league 3 weeks after I gave birth to my son, in October 2007, and have been swimming 3 nights a week ever since. I also try to go to the gym on the days that I don't swim. Since I have a little one, I'm not always successful though. I call my diet plan "eat healthy lose weight."
I am a stay-at-home mom, and when I get bored, I eat. This website has been instrumental in making me very aware of everything I put in my body and how much exercise I need to do to work it off.
Oh and I forgot to mention, I live in SoCal... the land of plastic, skinny people. What a bummer!

Why I hate (insert diet here).
I agree with you 100%. I lost all my weight the healthy way. It was tough in the beginning, but after a couple months of counting every single calorie you eat, you kinda get used to it. For me, it's almost like a game--figure out what I want to eat and get the numbers to align.
Congrats on your weight loss!

looking for a buddy:-)
I'm 22 (I'll be 23 in May). I also got married when I was 20, but I just had a baby a few months ago. We should totally be friends. I need some girls my age for encouragement. Wink

Stationary Bikes
Absolutely! When I go to the gym, I always use the upright bike. I rode the recumbent bike for a long time and saw NO results. As soon as I got on upright bike, the weight started falling off my waist and hips. I ride 20 min/5 times a week. It works for me.

Switching to slim fast
I'm not technically on the "Slim Fast" diet, but I do drink one almost every morning for breakfast. I think they're great. They really do curb the cravings for about 4 hours. If you drink a lot of Slim Fast, just make sure you exercise. They have a lot of carbs that will either give you energy while you work out or turn to fat when you don't burn them off. Good luck!
