I live in what they call "Outstate" Minnesota where the beer and weather always seem cold. I have been overweight all of my life by varying degrees. I jumped back into Fatsecret because I needed to either lose a lot of weight or I was going to die. You just don't see buches of fat old men out there. They die off early for a reason and I am trying to change that.

I understand the support issue. The family many times isn't on board with your new food choices either because it inconveniences them or because they become afraid that you will somehow change. If they see over time how important this is to you they will get on board. This is something that you will have to do alone, but it doesn't mean you have to be lonely. They family just needs a little guidance and a good boot in the ass.

Start with what you will enjoy, Kiddo. If you take on too much you will burn it out and then be back to doing nothing. The longest journey begins with a single step.

Water is the key with the Atkins induction. Don't be afraid of it. Water does so many good things for a body. Drink it and you will be saying, "Smooth move!"
