My name is Leslie (ok so no points on originality on my account name!)
Like many others, I have fought the weight battle all my life. My highest weight ever was 350 lbs. I actually joined Fat Secret back in 2009 when I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and had to go on medication - I managed to get some of the weight off - but then got complacent and settled in and didn't post here for a long time (even with the email reminders being sent to me).
So I need to stay motivated, make 2012 my year to get healthy (and stay healthy!) I don't want to have surgery (eg: gastric bypass or lap band) because I don't want to physically alter my body other than through diet and exercise. (disclaimer - no disrespect to those of you that may have opted for those routes, I like you, will try almost anything to lose the weight)
I am looking foward to simple things - not worrying about plastic patio furniture, easily putting on a pair of socks (if I have to wear them quite personally I prefer bare feet!), fitting comfortably in theatre seats, and ultimately, feeling and looking better for me!
I recently (Nov 2011) gave up coca-cola and have been "coke" free for 2 months. - I was addicted to it...3 - 4 cans a day. My food weaknesses are fast food (no particular favourite..sadly, I love them all equally) and sugary sweets.
I work full time, am single and I keep busy reading, watching tv, and playing on the computer. (hmmm those seem pretty sedintary..may need to change what keeps me busy!) :-)
