I'm 29, a mother of three, my oldest son is 10, my daughter is 7, and my baby is 1.5. They keep me busy to say the least :) I am married to a wonderful man................with amazing metabolism!!! It isn't fair!! I've been struggling with my weight since my second child was born. It just flew off after my first, but I've been holding on to a large portion of it since my second child. I lost about 40 pounds with Weight Watchers when my middle child was around 2 years old, but packed it all back on with the third baby!! So, this is the first time I've SERIOUSLY tried since then! There have been half hearted attempts, but no success. It's all or nothin' with me! I started this time around with the South Beach diet for the first 3 weeks - I cheated twice and kept starting over to get through phase 1, which is kind of rough - no grains, sugars, or fruit. I've decided to switch back to what I know and have had success with in the past - Weight Watchers. I think it's a great program that teaches you how to eat healthy. I will say that when I was on South Beach, I DID seem to have more energy. I believe that is because I'm a carb junkie, so I just need to try to incorporate more protein into my diet, but I just really LOVE my carbs, and I'm not even talking about the unhealthy ones, I LOVE the healthy ones, but they do lead to craving more.

Does anyone have The Prism Diet Cookbook??
I used to make the split pea soup out of this cookbook & I just went to pull it out of the cupboard & it is (gasp) missing Sad If anybody has this cookbook & wouldn't mind sending me the recipe I would so greatly appreciate it!!!

Thanks so much!

Are you BORN TO BE WILD?? --->Challenge!
Had a tea today instead of an afternoon snack, for once I believe I'll be under or at my points level instead of a few over. Only got in 1/2 hour on the elliptical instead of the hour I had wanted, but oh well!

I am going to commit to drinking tea when I get the urge to snack. It will help with my water intake and with any luck, my calorie intake as well. It really does help, either by filling you up for a wee bit to make it to meal time, or distracting you from eating when you're just bored. I'm also going to try and commit to using my elliptical every Tues, Thurs, & Sat for an hour. I have my weight lifting class on M, W, & F, but need to get my cardio in, and have been slacking on that!!

OK, I just had to make 4thehalibut's ricotta treat since it was getting so many rave reviews, and I have to agree, it is so very yummy! I used 1.5 cups of fat free ricotta (because it is what I had leftover after making the ricotta treat in the SB book, which is disgusting), the 1/2 cup milk, & 1.4 oz sugar free chocolate fudge pudding, and splenda to taste. Those measurements make 2 cups exactly, so for Weight Watchers with those exact ingredients, each 1/2 cup is 95 calories, 0 fat, & 0 fiber, which is 1.5 points. I'm hoping to make the scampi for dinner tomorrow, I'll have to plug through all the recipes tomorrow and see if I can find a pasta dish to go with it - Evelyns awesome list should make that an easy job for me Smile Thanks Evelyn!
