I have been overweight my whole life. The smallest I have ever been was when I literally starved myself into a size 12 in high school. It's been a rollercoaster ride ever since. I am currently over 300 pounds and a size 22/24. January 09 I joined Medi weight loss. They do a complete physical includig EKG and bloodwork and then put you on diet pills. Fortunately I am not diabetic and don't have thyroid issues. The prescribed diet is a lowfat Atkins. When I said this to the doctor she said she had never looked into Atkins. (sigh). I took the diet pills and then when my blood pressure went up because of them I was prescribed blood pressure pills. There is something really sick there. I lost 46 pounds in 4 months. Unfortunately I was laid off and could no longer afford the $85 a week (yup, you read that right) to keep going and have now gained back that weight plus some more. Enough is Enough. Back to Atkins it is. This is the only way of eating that makes sense to my body. I have never been one of those people who can eat a bowl of cereal in the morning and be satiated til lunch, I end up looking for breakfast number 2 an hour later. My commitment is to keep my food journal current and take an honest look at myself and my habits.
