Sorry I haven't been around much lately. My new job at the golf course is particularly busy right now even though we have little business. Now that they have a woman working in the place, it's like HGTV is there doing "Design on a Dime". I can't hardly walk tonight after working so hard for the last 2 days. There's not a square inch of that building that isn't changing and boy is it needed. Today I got to pick out paint colors. It will be a dramatic change from all white walls to 4 coordinating paint colors.
I had stuffed pizza yesterday for lunch since the guys ordered food while we were doing the renovation. It sure was good but I paid for it today with a terrible upset stomach. Today I grabbed some soup for lunch and did much better. I haven't had an official weigh-in in over a week because I keep forgetting to do it in the AM. I am sure I will be up a couple pounds.
In lieu of having surgery on my neck, I'm opting to try an epidural steroid injection first. I'm having a terrible time sleeping because of the pinched nerve. I hope I am in the 50% of people who get relief from the injection. I haven't been working out in the past week. I hope I don't get slack in that area for long!
I spent separate days with two girlfriends this weekend. One hasn't seen me in a year and the other hasn't seen me in 5 months. They were both very complimentary about my appearance. It made me feel so good.
My son is flying in from Vegas tomorrow. I am so excited!

Saw orthopedic Dr and had a MRI yesterday. It shocked me that they were so quick getting me in. I have a follow-up appt on Tues. All I know at this point is I have degenerative disk problems in my neck. The MRI will show the extent of my problems. I've been struggling with neck problems for years but now I am having intermittent arm pain and numbness so I am taking it more seriously. It's probably because I have become so active and worked places that haven't been worked in a long time!
I'm still making it the gym but I'm making careful choices with my exercises. I played golf twice this week too. My thyroid meds were increased because I was hypo so I'm hoping that might help me get these last few pounds off.
Went to the grocery store today and bought lots of healthy foods. I hope I will get motivated tomorrow and cook up a few days worth of healthy meals so I can get some veggies in my diet.

Up a little in my weight this week. I had a lot going on and didn't get all my usual workouts in. I did exercise some but not as much as I should. Went to Dr late last week for possible pinched nerve in neck. Got a B12 shot since I am low-normal in B12, found out I'm hypothyroid again so thyroid meds were increased, and I'm still waiting on results of x-rays. I've been having numbness and pain in my arm. I know from previous chiropractic visits that I have two bad discs in my neck. My neck stays stiff but it isn't hurting so I'm hoping it's not a pinched nerve.
I'm going to do my best to be 100% compliant with my new Dr. Oz challenge. I missed too many days of workouts to say yes to any of the questions. Sorry Sarah - I promise to do better this week.

It's week 7 of our 8 week family challenge. I am thrilled to report that my brother has lost almost 20 lbs since the challenge.
My hubby has lost a few pounds and is looking great with all the exercise he is getting. It's amazing how much muscle he has gained in his upper body in just a few months. He is looking BUFF! Not bad for a 57 year old man. He has surgery in December for his cancer and I know his surgeon will appreciate his hard work since he commented about how difficult it is to do surgery on someone with a lot of belly fat when we were there for the consultation a couple months ago. He bragged on my hubby for not having a big belly. All we could do was laugh because he had a huge belly last year.
I've been hanging around 148-149 range for a long time. I think I may get motivated to lose down to 140-145 range before my son's wedding but I'm just not that motivated right now. I'm doing a new exercise challenge for 4 weeks so that will keep me on track with the fitness aspect. I'm not eating a bunch of junk but I'm not eating hardly any vegetables lately. I find myself eating mostly high fiber/protein cereals, cheeses, chili, sweet potatoes, baked chicken, etc. I just need to take the time to cook but I'm out of my groove since I went back to work. Food just isn't that important and I grab what I can grab in a hurry. Hubby gets fed by his mother all the time. She lives down the street and cooks big meals every day. It makes me lazy in the kitchen knowing he isn't hungry for much.
I miss my buddies CherBru and PrettyFace. If you are reading this, please come back to FatSecret and hang out with us on a regular basis. You've both come too far to turn back now!
