Hi all! I'm 30 and I'm tired of the diet yo-yo. I have a wonderful family, but they are not interested in the same goals that I have, so essentially I feel very alone. I found this site so hopefully it will help provide some support to help me keep going even when it gets unbearable. My goal is to just never stop.

#5: 225 -- New pair of kicks! Expensive, Designer shoes :)
#6: 217 -- 1 dinner at my favorite restaurant(Now let's see if i learned anything)
#7: 207 -- Weekend getaway of my choosing
#8: 199 -- (my weight in 2002)Under 200lbs! Wedding dress shopping!

Ultimate Goal: 165-180 Don't know what i'm gonna do when I hit this goal. Maybe a new car? or Tropical vacation?

Making strides
Wow, I'm happy to say that almost 2 years after making that last post, I am no longer 268lbs! It's been a struggle, but I am now at 198 with 23 lbs left to go to hit my ultimate goal. Wow. I know over the past several months I haven't met this weight loss endeavor with as much fury as I did a year ago, and I have mostly just maintained since June. However, I have commited myself back to eating right (meaning correct portions) and more exercise. I found that when I was excersing 4 or 5 times a week, I was actully in a better mood...hmmm. I know they say exercise it the best form of natural stress release and I can say that it's absolutely true. So, my first day back at boot camp will be today! I look back on that 268 and I almost cry because when I was there, I literally felt like I was stuck. I never thought I would come through on the other side. But I did. But now I have to realize that I still have room to grow.

Diet Rotation
I actually mapped out a plan to mix diet plans. I dont' think they are horribly different. My thought process was to start off on the South Beach Diet and once I get into phase three where there are more options, I could keep a tab on my portions by following the WW point system. Along the way exercising gradually gets worked in and drinking plenty of water is also part of the plan. This plan is set up for 12 weeks and I think at the end, I could just start over and it will jumpstart more weight loss. I think mixing is not a bad idea at all as long as you are aware of the effects of each one and have a plan.

Looking for Hair Care Tips While Exercising
Hi Summer!I had the same issues with my hair. I've been wearing it natural for almots 7 years now. I tend to not work out when I have it blown out or flat ironed (which I shouldn't do!) However, an easy way to handle it if you don't have it straightened is to just wear a protective style like braids or have it in flat twists. Then you won't have to worry about your hair not holding the style and you can always wash braids. Hope this helps!

New and looking for buddies!
Hi There! I have a wedding coming up too! Although, my weight loss attempts definitely preceeded my engagement. I am however, more motivated than ever to work hard at this. Good luck to you!
