So let's see...this is where I talk about myself....Well...where to begin? I am 34...a mom of two....and we have all recently begun eating healthier because of a visit to my daughter's doctor. He gave us the "she needs to lose weight" lecture. He also smiled and said "I know mom will be making sure portion control is enforced" So guess what?! I am the portion control police in my house! Ha ha ha

It is important to note...I have been heavy my entire life... as I understand the exact quote when i was born was "She's got football shoulders" Uhhhhhh i was almost ten pounds and 23 inches long when i was born...so i came into this world a big girl....i have always been heavy...and dare i say it without anyone laughing...seriously i am big boned....I cringe when i hear those height weight charts because it means i have over a hundred pounds to lose...

As a Family we have started eating less processed...more fresh...leaner meats....I weigh and measure everything....More veggies and fruit and less processed carbs...whole grains...low cal whole wheat bread for sandwiches...low carb low fat whole grain tortillas..more fiber...less sugar...less processed sugars...even meatless once in awhile....which is crazy for me i am a midwest girl with a good old fashioned taste for yummy beef and comfort foods and potatoes...etc....

This is the first concerted effort i have made to lose weight...in addition to healthier foods...i have been exercising 30 minutes a day most days....

Good Evening All!
I hate being the newbie! I found this website from the WD magazine that came today...I haven't been following a set diet regime..other than keeping my calories down and portion control...less processed more fresh and almost all cooked at home by me! I just would love some extra support. my whole family is on this healthy eating thing with me...ohhh and exercising! I would love additional support outside of my family and if anyone has any tips and tricks for making a healthy lifestyle more fun for a 12 year old and an 11 year old..let me know!
