ADD and weight gain! There's a connection.
I'm wondering if anyone has experienced problems with ADD and found that it's contributed to their weight gain? I've been doing a lot of research and found that my type of ADD (inattention) leads to lack of structure in dieting and exercise. For example, while I know I should eat several times a day, often times I will go hours without putting anything in my mouth because staying on schedule is an absolute nightmare for people with my type of ADD. A nightmare! We take notes in different notebooks, can have 100 sticky notes on our desk, piles of paperwork to file, etc. No wonder its hard to keep a structure on our eating habits since PREPARATION is what's key.

Also, there is an impulsivity to our actions. For example, I will fight with myself the entire way home from work because I know I absolutely shouldn't have fastfood but I get an impulse and need to tackle hunger NOW! Lack of self-control is debilitating, it really is. It is best to have meats unthawed and maybe eat leftovers versus planning to cook an entire meal when you get home.

Anyone else out there have experience with this?

Alcohol while dieting.
Hello all. I have a question. What is the most Atkins-friendly or any diet-friendly alcohol? I know that alcohol altogether is bad but I cheated for the first time this weekend because I went to my boss' birthday party and there was free table service the whole night. I only drink 1 glass of whatever and its only 1 night the entire week.

What's worse a light beer or juice mixed with hard liquor? How about something like sake? I want to stay on track with my diet but I refuse to be the person who walks around with a bottle of water while mingling at a bar. In the entertainment industry, mingling is part of our jobs.

"AROUND THE WORLD" (in 42 Days)
FOR THE ADVENTURERS:

To end Week 1, I walked for 20 minutes on Friday and did my first ever session of Pilates for another 20 minutes.

My total weight loss for this 1st week is 6 lbs!!!! (9 lbs in less than 2 weeks.) My start f the induction phase coincided with this challenge which is why I'm losing so quickly but my motivation to exercise has to do with it too!

"AROUND THE WORLD" (in 42 Days)
FOR TEAM ADVENTURERS:

Unfortunately I wasn't able to exercise last night =( and I woke up super late this morning so I hopped on my treadmill for 5 minutes and ran for a total of 40 calories lost. Not much I know but I had to do something to feel better and I'll make sure to do some walking during my lunch hours.

"AROUND THE WORLD" (in 42 Days)
FOR THE ADVENTURERS:

Hopped on the treadmill for 46 minutes yesterday. I didn't run most of it but I still lost 310 calories. I already see a drastic change in my body shape since starting this about 4 weeks ago. The numbers on the scale move slowly but my figure is making a comeback.
