Hi my name is Jeannie. I'm the proud mother of 7 smart, talented & adorable children for which one is my nephew whom my husband & I are responsible for raising.

Starting Feb 1, 2013... I log all of my intake and physical activity. Therefore, I found the site while researching nutritional facts of a home-cooked meal I'd prepared. Initially, I only needed the website for looking up that info from time to time. But after a closer look today, I realized that there is so much more to it, and that I could benefit a great deal from the community here and attribute as well... so I decided to join.

Being an insanely busy mom with my husband always gone (USMC, currently deployed for 1 year... 6th deployment). I made the drastic mistake (over many years) of not taking time out for myself... resulting in a lose of SELF.

I actually LOVE people, but when life puts on the squeeze, I have a chronic case of the 'turtle syndrone'... tucking my head in my shell and not allowing myself anymore interaction with the outside world than has to be (driving, smiling & waving). I am committed to change that this year. I absolutely KNOW better! Positive social connections are an extension of God and one of the ways God offers his strength to us and gives us a tangible hug when we need it.

I believe this site will aid in my process & progress. Happy to be a member. Let's get it done!

Fresh meat here, doing basic calorie counting
LOL!!! 'Fresh Meat Here'... I love it. Welcome! I'm new to this site as well and am learning how to navigate through. It's been great so far. I don't have any buddies yet, but would like to add you, as soon as I figure out how to do that. I have just under 100lbs that I'm targeting and I too am mainly counting calories. We're here for you. Greek Yogurt
I agree with Preggo38... the chia seeds & hemp hearts are fantastic. However, I don't have much of a problem with Greek yogurts... I like most tart foods. I enjoy eating the flavored Chobani and I've also discovered that adding it in while making frozen fruit smoothies is the best... so yummy! I also enjoy the fruity Fage.
