I have never been thin but it wasn't until after college that I really started packing on the pounds. I've tried many different diet plans and I have had some success in losing weight but I always gain it back and then some. My feeling is that dieting is only treating the symptom of the root problem. The question I never answered until now is, "Why do I overeat in the first place?"

I'm trying intermittent fasting along with some healthy eating. What healthy means is something I'm still discovering. I'm leaning towards plant-based low carb.

Update: I tried intermittent fasting until pandemic and 100% working from home and living with my in-laws made that almost impossible. I tried Noom and learned a lot but, also, did not stick with it. I started Bright Line Eating, by Susan Pierce Thompson on April 25, 2022. I'm choosing to believe this will be different and effective. I'm cutting out all refined sugar and sugar substitutes, and flour. I love the food I'm eating, I've struggled with withdrawal symptoms. I'm still trying to manage my time and resources to make it work. I do miss some foods that are not on this plan, but by and large, I'm satisfied.

I know the feeling. When I was not trying to lose weight, I didn't think about food much, I just ate whatever was on hand. Now that I am actively trying to curb my intake, I have to think about food more from necessity. It's natural and it did subside for me a bit once I got into the groove of my new way of eating. Roll with the punches and congrats for not going over your RDI *and* for logging everything. You are doing the right thing. There is another FS member that journaled on a technique called "tapping" recently that you might find useful as well. Do a search on the FS site for tapping and send me a message if you can't find it, I will see if I can track it down as well.

Rude people
I haven't really been picked on since high school and never for my weight. I am not sure how I would handle it, *especially* after having lost a lot of weight and then to be singled out for being chubby, or some such. I think I would be very incensed by the irony and injustice, hehe.
