Well 5 days in and I'm still here and on track :)
Looking back on my journal I have have had a couple of attempts at getting back into my healthy regime...sadly fialed miserably..holding fast this time and feeling great about that!
I did take a peak at the scales this morning and I'm very pleased with the result. No doubt it's just my liver having a clear out of all the stored junk from the holidays but it was sat on my waistline and showed. I am feeling thinner around the middle and my work uniform is not quite so klingy, gotta be a good thing.
I have some fab studio photo's of my little family, DH, Ozzy and myself, taken on my birthday in September. I want to share them with you but I'm going to wait until I am back at the same weight I was when they were taken...hopefully in a few weeks.
Off to do my thing on the treadmill, then get tucked up in bed to watch the start of a new series of Biggest Looser (season 11 in UK)

I have been going to bed a little on the hungry side lately, though last night we watched a DVD in bed....fatal! Not only was I getting more and more hungry but they kept eating on the TV ARRRGGG! I had to get up and eat something.....
.....thankfully hubby was cooking some meals for the week for me in the slow cooker, which had just finished & needed to be turned off. He had made a huge pot of yumminess, which when divided into 5 large and tasty portions only worked out at 200 cals, genius! I tucked into a hearty bowl of lean minced beef with heaps of veggies and a wonderful flavour...oh boy was that nice! I slept so soundly I didn't get up until way past 9am (usually up at 6ish), I came downstairs to the wonderful aroma of bacon. Hubby had bacon for breakfast but wanted to sneak it in when it wouldn't cause me to look longingly at it. Whats more he has loaded up the slow cooker again FOR ME!! There is something about the slow cooker that intensifies the flavour, not to mention it is so easy...made for winter.
I must get in two sessions on my treadmill today, skipped yesterday due to unexpected visitors & to be honest lazziness.

I have to admit, I'm not great in the kitchen....can build one just don't let me loose in there lol......BUT things are changing in that direction. I am having a go at this cooking thing and two things have really amazed me...firstly...I am actually quite enjoying it...secondly...the food I have cooked has been very nice indeed :o)
Hubby bought me my first ever stand mixer for my wedding anniversary gift (end Nov) I have been experimenting with baking mainly. I did give much of it away, just having a taste for research purposes you understand. Then I decided to make baked goods as presents and all were well recieved. This gave me a confidence boost and I have been given lots of cookery books for Christmas and am reaping the rewards...tasty healthy stuff mmmmmm. It is slightly more time consuming but it is fun! Hubby feels a little confused, the kitchen has always been his special domain but he has begun to enjoy sharing his space, though he's not quite brave enough to let me cook for him lol.
Well.... my tummy tells me it is expecting dinner soon, so rather than waiting until it is shouting at me and grazing on a quick fix, I'm off to the kitchen to ruslte up something delicious....well... edible is where I'm aiming, anything else is beginers luck!

Ahhhhh the weekend!
Funny how even though the first week back at work was very short (an 11.30 early finish to Friday), the weekend is so sweet. The flip side is time at home where all the temptations are still around. Time to remind myself of the scales this morning....a 3.5lb loss....in just two full days of being back tracking and journaling! I am thrilled and that has kept my momentum going.
I know I should be able to look at my eating habits as a way of life...but I can't. I have found what works for me and I have to stick to it or face the slippery slope to Fatville....lol!
One of the things that I love about this site is that we are all doing this together but in a very individual way. Inspiration and new ideas are all here, taking what I need and using it the way I need to for my success, no judging, just support....you guys are priceless!!!
Time to take down the Christmas decs, take my rabbit (Lenny) to have his teeth trimmed, re-shuffle some things...I think that counts as tidying..and get in some exercise....

Woo Hoo day two!!
I think I have found out where I have been going wrong...it's my internal Sat Nav, it has had it's home location set to Fatville! I have re-set my home to Skinnytown...lol!
Directions to Skinnytown are as follows (guessing we all know our way to Fatville....blindfolded!!)
Engage forward motion, at the junction of, Should I Eat This & Is This Healthy, check your food diary to see if you are clear to make this manouver before proceeding. Follow the road ahead, keep clear of obsticles like, MMMM That Looks Tasty & A Little Bit Wont Hurt. When you get to I'm Hungry, take a break and consume prepared food ONLY and log consumption immediately! As you near the end of your journey, ensure adequate exercise has been visited before journalling and checking on your FS buddies....in no time you will arrive at your destination...SKINNYTOWN!!!
YES IT IS THAT SIMPLE!!!
I have done it before, I know the way, it is fun... because I can share it with you....every twist and turn, up and down.
