I'm 26, active, work full time, live with my boyfriend and I love it!! Living away from home has really pressured my wallet in many ways so I had to quit my gym membership and start really budgeting for the grocery store. It made it really hard to excersize regularly and eat healthy (all the stuff thats good for you is more expensive, of course!!) but I'm trying hard to get back on track!!

I've always been petite and don't feel that I really need to lose a lot of weight. I just want to tone my body and keep it in shape and healthy. I know that watching what I eat will really help me to do that, I am a sweets and carbs JUNKIE!! Any kind of cake, cookie, cracker, pasta or treat will do me in :/

My boyfriend is really helpful in giving me nice reminders and helpful tricks from good workouts to daytime snacks. He's a great motivator for me and I love that! He works out regularly as well and we eat healthy meals together.

I'm hoping that using FatSecret will help me take control of what/how much I eat and how often I workout. It's really nice to see it all spread out in front of me with the numbers.

And of course seeing what all of you are doing too!! It's great motivation! Good luck to EVERYONE at reaching your goals :)

INSANITY
I've done Insanity for months now and I love it!! I did the program (2 months) twice through and am currently doing other things for my workouts just to change it up a bit, but I still would recommend Insanity to anyone who is really looking for weight loss/ toning results.

I have to be honest, it isn't for those who are out of shape or just starting working out because it will kick your butt! The workout is a lot of Cardio, which is great for weight loss but if you aren't active, you will be winded and tired just getting through the warm ups. Plus it is a lot of plyometrics using muscles you aren't used to.

I started out slow and it was a challenge, but I can now easily get through the full hour+ Max workouts. If you are looking for something to crank your workout routine up a notch, these DVDs are great! I'm toned and loving it!!

BUT as is always number one... you are what you eat! Your daily DIET is what matters most so eat healthy first and workout to supplement Smile

Good Luck everyone!! Hope you reach your goals!

What is a good daily fitness routine?
I definitely think that what you found on the the daily fitness site is a great outline to follow. I was in the same boat and wanted to tone my body and just genuinely be healthier. I have always enjoyed cardio, but needed to up my toning/exercise. I do the Insanity workouts, but also something I like to do each day is some simple at home exercises which takes about 20 minutes if I do it 2-3 times through.

I hope this link works for you. (just copy and paste)
http://allyfit.tumblr.com/post/15968075542/photoset_iframe/allyfit/tumblr_lxwus9c3lF1ql2uvy/500

It should take you to an image with home workouts to do each day of the week. Print it out and try some or all of these out at least 3-4 days a week. If you are feeling strong, do the circuit multiple times or more reps of each move. It should definitely help with the toning/exercise portion of your routine. I leave the printout sitting on my coffee table to I always see it and it reminds me to get a quick workout in. Once you start the jumping jacks to warm up, you'll feel ready to keep going! You also get some cardio with this too!

Hope this helps Smile

How to Stop being Shy Exercising?
Hey girl, I definately know the shy thing and used to let it get the best of me all the time. I missed out on a lot of things because I was worried about what others thought. It's NO FUN!!

I know the high school thing is hard, I was there just a few years ago. But what you need to do is just get out there and run and not think about what others MAY say... and what kind of person would tell everyone you were running at school??? That's a GREAT thing to do and it's GREAT for you, I don't think it could be twisted into anything negative. If anything, people who see you running would think, "Wow, go girl! Way to do something good for yourself" At least that's what I think everytime I see someone out getting exersize.

Just hold your head high, blast some good tunes on your ipod and get out there and run. It will make you feel great all over!!

And Remember:
"Those who mind don't matter, Those who matter don't mind" Smile

How many calories is good to stay under to lose weight
It definately depends on your weight and activity level. Try a website like this one... http://www.shapefit.com/dailycalorie-calc.html

Though you can find theses "calculators" anywhere online. Enter in your info and if you are trying to loose weight, try to shoot for just under what the calculator tells you is reccomended for daily calorie intake Smile

Good Luck!

Sodium consumption
Here is an article I found online that highlights some specific brands and meals to eat. http://www.kcra.com/r/15196499/detail.html

I'd say your best bet is to just check labels for each type of food, not just brans/makers... it gets tedious, but once you find the good ones, you will know for future shopping trips. Good luck!! I'm a salt addict too and it's SUPER hard to watch my sodium intake.
