I am a 53 year old Software Developer. Married since 1989, mother of 3, two in college and one college graduate. I haven't had too many weight issues, but during the last 5 to 8 years I have been slowly putting the weight on. For a while I was nearly at 170, which was quite a bit for my 5'3". I lost some of it, down to about 150, and let it slowly start creep back on. Now I am determined to get down to about 130 which is what I weighed when my husband and I were married. I want to have energy to run 5K's and keep up with my kids!

Also I want to inspire my husband to lose some weight so that he won't be at as great of risk for heart disease which runs in his family.

I recently got distracted from my fitness goals as I cared for my ailing mother who recently passed away. Mom I miss you but its time for me to get out there and get fit!

Cluck in with your 'EGGSpert' opinion
I decided not to worry about it unless the doc ever tells me to watch my cholesterol. On a recent blood test result in the note section he told me to go have a cheeseburger, so I guess I am good for now. Smile

Why should you weigh yourself?
I weigh myself too often, I KNOW I don't NEED to know, but I really am very curious. I don't get too discouraged if things haven't changed, but sometimes I am delightfully surprised! Also I know that I will notice a trend and can nip it in the bud. I don't take any weight during the day too seriously, just the morning measurement.

I think it comes down to personality as to whether weighing often is good or not. For the curious cat like me it allows me to stop wondering. Smile

Weight Loss Stall/Gain????
Yeah, me too. Its like my body stops processing anything for a few days and I get all backed up. No fear though, usually there is relief in the "end". Smile

Cheese counting... am I crazy?!
I think 1 oz is too much for me most of the time. I don't think you are required to eat the full amount if your not comfortable eating that much. If you are then what a treat!
