Need Your Opinions...
Thanks guys. That answers my question. So, I guess you could say that Nutrisystem is "off the table" for me.

Need Your Opinions...
Ok, thanks everyone. I believe that ALL diets will work to produce weight-loss. The trick is you have to follow them as they direct you. In 2006-2007 I lost around 75 lbs on my own low-calorie diet, but I have since gained back around 35 lbs, so I know that it can be done. I just need to find that same motivation. I guess I didn't make myself clear in my earlier post when I asked for your opinions. What I was really asking is "How is the food in the Nutrisystem diet? Is it "good, decent or bad?" If it's bad, I won't eat it, therefore it would be a waste of my time and money. Sorry for not being clear about what I was asking before. Any more thoughts?

Need Your Opinions...
I know that I need and have to lose weight, but motivation has been my biggest roadblock. My doctor is working with me to get my A1C down but unless I can lose weight I know it's not going to happen without medication. Last week he put me on another medication for my type 2 diabetes and I must admit it has helped to lower my readings. Even though my labs indicate that my liver functions are normal, I'm concerned that eventually over a period of time the effect on my organs could be harmful. My brother (who was bi-polar) was guinea-pigged on by his doctors for years with different meds and it eventually destroyed his liver. He died a few years ago at the age of 48, and I am concerned about my taking so many medications now. So, I know it's time to try something different - dietwise. I'm wondering about the NutriSystem diet. Would like to hear from some of you who have tried it and your opinions. I'm usually skeptical about a lot of these diets, not really trusting "celebrity endorsements". So, your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Overeating - Better IN the waste than ON the waist.
When I was growing up we didn't have a lot but we weren't poor either. My folks instilled in all 8 of us kids to never waste food. They worked hard to put food on our table. We didn't waste food. But today, that mindset has created a problem for a lot of people (like me) who struggle with their weight. It can be very difficult at times to push myself away from the table when my belly is full and there is still food on my plate. But my wife keeps telling me "better IN the waste than ON the waist." I know she is right and I need to push a little harder and SOONER from the table. Wish me luck.

My Story
Started dieting about a month ago which was a week before a routine doctor visit. Weighed 209.8 at the doctor's office and my blood sugar had been running very high. Need to lose down to 182. That was my weight when I got married 5 years ago.
My problem is I am 90% confined to a power chair. I walk only when I am forced to - on crutches. I walk to go to the bathroom, to go to my car, to go into a store, to go to bed, etc. I have fallen many times in my life and who knows when my next fall could be my last. So, being as sedentary as I have become I have put on some pounds. I have lost the weight before (around 75 lbs) in the past, but have put about 30-35 of it back on over the past few years. I haven't been able to weigh myself at home yet because I can't get my balance on my scales. But as soon as I lose a few more pounds, I should be able to weigh in.
So, I stumbled on this website and it has helped me tremendously. Even though I can't weigh yet, I know I have lost a few pounds because I'm moving around easier - and my blood sugar levels are down to an acceptable range. I was logging my food before I found this site but this makes it so much easier to keep track of my calories. Thanks for the help.
